  a young, progressive, kind elder wants to have a chat with me on sunday after the meeting.

  we've talked before and been quite open about the judgemental attitudes 'we' have as witnesses, and he was completely in agreement, stating that he's never understood the beard thing among other issues, and wants to see the society moving forward by change..

  i've no doubt he just wants to encourage me to up my hours or reach out again, but it's nerve wracking, as i know i'll say something i'll regret.

  a splendid morning to all you good chaps and chapesses in internetland!

  i already listen to 'the human bible' , 'healingxjw' , 'infinite monkey cage' , 'doctor karl' ,(aussie dude, great science show) , but im on the lookout for more podcasts to subscribe to, science, bible, apologetics, comedy, you know the stuff...

  any suggestions?

  BIG conversation with the missus MKII. Ended well. Wish I could argue better!

  well, had a loooooooong conversation with the missus again after being accused of being overly critical of the borg.. .

  i stated that i thought the borg was marvellous, full of really good people, (in our experience, it has been so far), but that i had difficulty with the dogmatic stance we had on certain issues that we couldn't possibly be sure about, and that if i were to vocalise any of these issues and unrepentantly not change my thinking, then i could be df'd for that, which i view as an unloving bullying tactic.

  organ transplants, vaccinations, (jah will resurrect, don't worry), new understandings of the fads and generations etc... particularly the thought that only jw's will be saved.

  sat on tge platform reading the scriptures for some bullpoop q and a parroting session..

  my po once said he felt physically ill seeing me give talks on the platform.

  howdy all , relieving the boredom at the meeting again.

  yesterday on the ministry i was offering halloween mags (i know,i just dont even try anymore!

  ) - the lovely missus said "you cant place those" so i said half sarcastically "the truth never goes out of date or changes" .

  sat on the sound again, listening to this twaddle about the governing body, hearing the parrotted answers and cursing my stupidity and ignorance for the decades in which i did the same.

  posting on here during a meeting is fun!

  you guys are a great support group.

  i spoke to a ms the other day, trying to get his opinion on the wt we'd just studied at the meeting.

  the paragraph where the co didn't know if he had enough money to afford gas for a trip, he prayed and went anyway, and someone donated the exact amount to cover his trip.. my question to the ms was - the wt clearly are saying jah answered that prayer, yet there were a couple dozen jw's sheltering in a kh in the philippines, undoubtedly praying, yet they all died in the hurricane.

  how's that work, how can jah answer some prayers but not others?.

  yo dudes.. .

  i've been studying ttatt for nearly a year now, i'm pretty much convinced wt theology is a crock, but i can't just leave as i don't want to lose family, and i simply can't disappoint my elderly aging parent.. .

  i'm prepared for the long game fade (could be a few years), but have been sowing seeds with the wifey little bit by little bit.

  COC & ISOCF - (for believers) -what DON'T you agree with raymondo about?

  hi all, i'm halfway through isocf having finished coc recently..

  i'm still in, not sure what i believe anymore, but along the christian viewpoint, uncle ray makes a lot of sense to me.

  so are there any contrary viewpoints out there, any points ray made that can be argued against or that you find hard to swallow?
